Prof. Giuseppe Lanza is a Full Professor of Applied Medical Sciences Techniques at the University of Catania, Dean and President of the Degree Course in Occupational Therapy, Chief of the “Neurophysiopathology of the Brain Aging” Clinical Unit at the Oasi Research Institute-IRCCS (WHO Collaborating Center), and Consultant Neurologist. He is an internationally recognized expert in clinical neurophysiology, transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS), sleep disorders, vascular cognitive impairment, dementia, and non-invasive brain stimulation. With more than 380 scientific publications, an h-index of 48 (Scopus), and over 5,300 citations, he leads multiple national and international research projects funded by the Italian Ministry of Health and the European Union.
Multiple international awards including the Elio Lugaresi Award for Education (World Sleep Society), Wayne Hening Young Investigator Awards, Da Vinci Awards (Taobuk), and recognition as Top Cited Scientist (Elsevier, 2023–2025) and 2024 Top Scholar (ScholarGPS). Elected member of the Management Group of the European Academy of Neurology Coordinating Panel on Neuroscience/Translational Neurology, Italian Delegate of World Sleep Day, and member of dozens of international scientific societies. Frequently invited speaker and chair at major congresses worldwide (EAN, World Sleep, MDS, INS, etc.).
