Shape shifting is often portrayed as a mythological or supernatural ability, the power to transfosrm from one form into another. However, beyond folklore and fiction, this concept can be understood metaphorically to describe the human capacity for adaptability. This paper explores shape-shifting as both a cultural myth and a behavioural reality. Drawing from mythological accounts, biblical references, and literary works such as Franz Kafka’s Metamorphosis, it argues that human beings are the greatest shape shifters ever created by God. The study examines psychological, social, emotional, and survival-based transformations, proposing that human adaptability represents a form of modern metamorphosis conditioned by environment, experience, and necessity.
